Many times, you see an ad for a job that’s “completely flexible” and “lets you make your own schedule”, all from the comfort of your own home. However, these ads can (most likely) be scams or lead you to a job that is completely ridiculous. On the bright side, there are in fact major, reputable companies that offer jobs that their employees can do from home! The jobs range from tech, to design and selling, to simply running errands for people in order to make some money on the side.

Amazon Mechanical Turk: Do the jobs that machines can’t at this WFH job. Tasks include identifying objects in pictures, transcribing recordings, Excel work, etc. The pay at first will probably not be enough to replace your income, but the longer you work with the company, the more possibilities present themselves!

Apple At Home Advisor: This WFH job is perfect for someone with great tech and customer service skills. At Home Advisors get paid time away and product discounts, which is not only convenient, but it’s also awesome. The job might be a little more rigid than other WFH opportunities, but the perks make up for it.

Virtual Assistant: Become a virtual assistant from home and help other people manage schedules, book travel, plan social media, and more. The managing company, Zirtual, administers a few qualifying tests beforehand to ensure that assistants are vetted and have relevant experience, but most of the tasks you will do can be done right from your couch!

TaskRabbit: This job does require a little bit of travel, but it won’t be too far from your home. Employees of TaskRabbit basically run other people’s errands for them and do their odd jobs. The jobs require little to no experience, and you’ll be notified when someone nearby needs a hand.

Etsy: One of the most reputable online marketplaces is, for the most part, comprised of independent artists that run their business from home. Even if you’re not an established artist or seller, you can still set up a storefront on the site and sell the products of your creative hobby.

If none of these opportunities seem like your cup of tea, then check your company’s policies about working from home. There is a chance that your company is flexible and will allow you to work from home for most of the week, if not all of it! In fact, here at PCG, most of our team has flexible hours and works from home very often!
